Recently, the winners of the 10th International Congress of Chinese Mathematicians (ICCM 2025) were announced. Professor Wang Kelei from the School of Mathematics and Statistics at Wuhan University was awarded the 2025 ICCM Mathematics Silver Prize.

Wang Kelei is a professor and doctoral supervisor at Wuhan University’s School of Mathematics and Statistics, as well as a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 2005 and his Ph.D. from the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 2010. From 2010 to 2012, he conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Sydney, Australia, and later served as an associate researcher at the Wuhan Institute of Physics and Mathematics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (2012–2014). He joined Wuhan University in 2015. His research focuses on nonlinear partial differential equations, calculus of variations, and geometric measure theory. He has made significant contributions to the study of Allen-Cahn equations, supercritical concentration phenomena, the De Giorgi conjecture, and the classification of stable solutions and finite Morse index solutions for nonlinear elliptic equations.
Wang Kelei has received numerous honors, including the ICCM Ruolin Award (2024), the Zhong Jiaqing Prize from the Chinese Mathematical Society (2013), and the Chinese Academy of Sciences Outstanding Ph.D. Thesis Award (2011).

The International Congress of Chinese Mathematicians (ICCM), founded in 1998 by Fields Medalist Shing-Tung Yau, chairman of the Union of Chinese Mathematicians, is a premier global academic event for Chinese mathematicians, held every three years. The congress awards three major prizes—the ICCM Mathematics Prize, the Chern Prize, and the John Coates International Collaboration Award—recognizing outstanding achievements by Chinese mathematicians under 45 and their contributions to advancing mathematics.
