In this talk, we present some studies of elementary abelian p-subgroups of algebraic groups and applications of these results in the Inverse Galois problem, the classification of acceptable Lie groups, the Alperin weight conjecture, etc.

Speaker's profile: Yu Jun obtained a doctoral degree from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich in 2012. He has since conducted postdoctoral research at the Princeton Institute for Advanced Study and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States. He is currently an associate professor at the School of Mathematical Sciences and BICMR, Peking University. His main research areas include Li Qun, Representation Theory, Self Defense Representation Theory, etc. He has published multiple high-quality papers in internationally renowned journals such as Duke Math. J., J. Diff. Geom, Adv. Math.
