Our School Organizes Faculty and Students to Participate in High School Students' Cherry Blossom Viewing Special Campus Open Day Event

On March 16, Wuhan University hosted a special cherry blossom viewing event for high school students alongside its campus open day. Our school organized faculty and students to participate in exhibition setup and consultation services, establishing booths and information points at the main venue in Zhuoer Gymnasium and within the school building. Coinciding with Wuhan University's 21st Mathematics Culture Festival, our school hosted the “Mathematical Rhythms and Cherry Blossom Splendor Garden Party” on the first floor of Lei Jun Science Building. Through engaging mathematical competition games, we promoted Wuhan University's mathematics discipline and celebrated mathematical culture.

At the main venue in Zhuoer Gymnasium, faculty members including Party Secretary Li Qin, Dean Fan Huijun, Deputy Party Secretary Liu Shanshan, Vice Dean Wang Maofa, Department of Pure Mathematics Chair Liu Xiaochun, and Department of Applied Mathematics Vice Chair Wang Lijuan, along with student volunteers, answered questions and distributed promotional materials at our college's booth. They enthusiastically addressed inquiries from high school students and parents regarding admissions policies, academic programs, and educational models.

The Mathematics Department hosted a special event—Mathematics Fair—at the Lei Jun Science Building. Through eight interactive math games, high school students explored the world of mathematics, experienced its culture, and discovered its charm. The college opened its lecture halls, conference rooms, classrooms, and other administrative and teaching areas for high school students and parents to tour. Multiple faculty members and student volunteers were stationed throughout the building to provide consultations. Display boards and achievement showcases comprehensively presented the college's accomplishments in discipline development, talent cultivation, and faculty growth, fostering a rich mathematical culture atmosphere. The festival welcomed over 1,500 visitors who experienced the mathematical games.

As the admissions office responsible for the Xiangyang region, our college also welcomed over 300 high school teachers, students, and parents from Xiangyang during the campus open day. During this event, numerous high school students visited Wuhan University's campus to learn about the university's mathematics programs, educational models, and student development opportunities. While experiencing the campus culture during Wuhan University's cherry blossom season and the academic atmosphere of the Mathematics Culture Festival, they gained a close-up appreciation of the profound heritage of this century-old discipline.
