School of Mathematics and Statistics has two primary disciplines: Mathematics(0701) and Statistics(0714). There are five sub-disciplines of Mathematics(0701): Pure Mathematics(070101), Computational Mathematics(070102), Probability and Mathematical Statistics(070103), Applied Mathematics(070104), and Operational Research and Cybermetics(070105)

SMS offers the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and also the acdemic degree of Master of Science in the two primary disciplines:Mathematics(0701) and Statistics(0714).

It normally takes 5 years for a bachelor to obtain a PhD degree. For students who have already had a degree of MS, the expected duration is 4 years. It normally takes 3 years for a bachelor to obtain an Acdemic Master’s Degree.
